MS Challenge 2007

The following accounts are from some of this years team members:

Phil, Matt & Jon Eeley

"My sons and I have been involved with charity events for more years than I care to remember, We have been to the top of Kilimanjaro, crossed the Avon Gorge on a zip wire, walked numerous miles and held countless charity stalls in the local street. Why is the MS wheelchair event the only one that we have done more than once? The answer is it is great fun, it is physically demanding over a short period of time, the team spirit is second to none and it is for very good cause.

The real answer is that where else can you ford rivers, wade through mud up to your chest, get thoroughly dirty and raise money for Multiple Sclerosis at the same time."

Elaine & Lee Douglas

"Ready to start, were getting pumped up…now time to pitch the tent! Oops, haven’t got a clue, thank goodness for the experienced people around us. One of the things great about the MS Challenge is the immense sense of camaraderie of the team.

There was an immense adrenaline rush after the Marshal signalled us to begin. We carried, lifted and pulled Tracy to the almost heavenly pit stop. Mars bars and juice J . By which time the heavens decided to open…. We had rain and hailstones, just what you want on a Sunday morning! But still we all kept cheerful, especially Tracy and Johnny (The participators being carried).

After finishing through the mud, bog and rivers! We had a fantastic time with the most amazing sense of achievement. We’ve hopefully raised lots of money for an extremely worthy cause, well done team! Thanks for the experience see you all next year!"
