Holistic Therapies

The Bowen technique is a soft tissue remedial therapy. It was developed by the late Tom Bowen in Australia and has been used successfully for over 40 years to treat thousands of people suffering from a variety of illnesses.

This gentle, effective therapy can be used to address almost any condition.  It consists of a series of very precise moves over the fascia of your muscles, tendons, ligaments and joints to stimulate energy flow and empower your body to heal itself.  These gentle moves result in a feeling of well-being and pleasant relaxation as your body's natural healing responses are stimulated. Each move requires time for your brain to assimilate the move, allowing your body time to heal and respond. The Bowen Technique may be used on anyone from the newborn to the elderly and can give lasting relief from pain and discomfort throughout your body.  Your session may last from half an hour to around an hour, resulting in a deep sense of relaxation. The Bowen Technique can enhance sport performance and increase energy.  It can improve circulation, lymphatic and venous drainage and eliminate toxins, aid joint mobility, posture, and provide relaxation and stress relief.

Crystals have been used for healing since ancient times by many different cultures It is a holistic therapy, which means that the focus is on the individual as a whole, rather than on physical symptoms alone. The aim of this therapy is to restore wholeness, balance and health on levels of emotions, mind, spirit as well as the physical body.

Crystal Therapy works with the energy of specific crystals to clear energy blockages, both in the physical and auric bodies (our electromagnetic field). Crystal healing uses resonance, i.e. one vibrating substance to affect or change the vibration or frequency in another vibrating substance. It works to re-establish balance and thus allows the body the optimum opportunity of healing itself.

The outcome of a Crystal Therapy session, creates a deep sense of relaxation and well-being. Most treatments take approximately one hour. And can help prevent physical illness for both acute and chronic conditions, stress related conditions, states of anxiety, pre and post operative healing and can support the recovery of existing symptoms.

Body Massage

This involves massage to the whole body excluding the face. It is done with sweet almond oil. Some of the moves are quite stimulating and vigorous and is very good for stiff muscles and loosening the body. The term "Swedish Massage" refers to a variety of techniques specifically designed to relax muscles by applying pressure to them against deeper muscles and bones. Swedish massage shortens recovery time from muscular strain by flushing the tissues of lactic acid, uric acid, and other metabolic wastes. It increases circulation without increasing heart load. It stretches the ligaments and tendons keeping them supple and pliable. Swedish Massage also stimulates the skin and nervous system and soothes the nerves themselves at the same time. This promotes a general state of well being and renewal of energy levels. Aromatherapy Massage

The combination of body massage and the medicinal and therapeutic qualities of the essential oils can soothe, revitalise, uplift the spirit, encourage positive thinking and boost the immune system enabling the body to heal itself and induce relaxation
